What is d.a.t.a.?
Dance Arts/Technique Academy (D.A.T.A.) is a name that flourished from years of teaching dance to an array of people…From teaching Creative Movement for pre schoolers to teaching Hip Hop dance for adults of all levels. The one thing that always brought me back to teach throughout the years of guiding, directing, creating, was that everyone wanted a piece of joy that dance brings…And that was an amazing gift to give as a leader.
And in retrospect, I learned as a teacher that the practice of teaching dance had two main parts: lead the dancers in artistic epxression ( the subjective) and train the dancer the technical aspect (the objective). When both practices merge, magic happens,,,
The dance is danced with the understanding of the physical body, and the dance is tapped from inside the self, more significantly with every step.
